Lacey Raley, LMFT

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

ME AS A PERSON

I’m Lacey! (she/her) I believe we are meant to heal together, and I’d describe myself as a relational therapist. You deserve to feel connected to yourself and others! That’s what life is all about.
Over the years, my therapy populations and modalities have shifted, but the themes remain the same: embodiment, connection, autonomy, and community. I see individuals and couples looking to meet themselves and their partners in a deeper way. Many things within our culture have interrupted deepening these connections.

Populations I see: (individuals and couples) moving through religious and spiritual trauma, music and creative industries, those exploring a healthy relationship with food and body, ADHD/neurodivergence in adulthood, & anxiety and perfectionism. As a partner of a touring musician for over a decade, I love working with those experiencing this relational dynamic.

MY THERAPEUTIC APPROACH IS:

Affirming
Embodied
Integrative
Systemic
Creative

Curious
Compassionate
Challenging
Non-Judgmental

Justice-Oriented

Evidence-Based

I work from an intersectional, creative perspective with a somatic focus. I value the vast variety within our human experience, and I truly love that we all have our own unique parts, needs, and goals. This keeps life interesting!

What to expect in a session with me: I communicate openly and directly with lots of curiosity. My sessions are typically active: getting to know your parts (IFS), breathwork, nervous system regulation, reframing relational patterns, challenging you to take up more space, identifying and asking for what you need. This also includes working toward unconditional self-compassion by repairing the innate trust you once had in yourself and your body; we need to become a safe space for ourselves.

I’m passionate about responsibility and accountability, so I invite my clients to be open with feedback on what is and is not working for them, not only in their lives, but in our work together. Through it all, research shows us time and time again that the most important therapeutic factor of change is the connection you have to your therapist, so it’s very much a part of my job to ensure you’re getting what you need out of the sessions you’re paying for. I know that therapy is a financial commitment and often a privilege to access, so I strive to meet you in whatever feels genuinely helpful for your life and relationships.

I’m aligned and affirming of Health at Every Size (HAES), neurodivergence, LGBTQ+, and Diversity Equity & Inclusion.

Outside of the therapy room, my daily life looks like listening to music I love, trying new things, movement in or outside of the gym, making colorful food, art projects, game nights, binging tv, thrifting, trying to stay up to date on the state of the world and my community, and finding beauty in the small stuff. I have lived experiences with chronic illnesses, hypermobility, neurodivergence, disembodiment, and religious trauma.

MY TRAINING

My modalities integrate the trauma-informed, evidence-based practices of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (TN license #1854). I received my BS in Psychology from LSU (I am originally from Louisiana!), and Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University, where I also completed my practicum and internship years at the Trevecca Counseling Center working with young adults. I previously specialized in Eating Disorder populations.

I am a certified Mindfulness Integrative Clinical Practitioner via training with Tara Brach, Clinical Tele-Mental Health Provider (CTMH), Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), and PREPARE/ENRICH Premarital Counseling Facilitator, and have begun my training in Intimacy From The Inside Out (IFIO), which is the IFS model for couples.
