ME AS A PERSON

Hi there! I’m really glad you’re here! My name is Summer (she/her). I’m from California and have been in Nashville for a few years now to pursue my undergraduate and graduate studies. Outside of school, I spend my time connecting with friends, trying new foods, and hanging with my dog, Ruby. I’m a former audio engineer so I geek out about sound design in films, tv, and video games. I enjoy working with my hands so you can count on me to pick up new hobbies and crafts like embroidery, puzzling, or learning an instrument in my free time.

MY THERAPEUTIC APPROACH IS:

Non-judgmental
Affirming
Compassionate
Empathetic
Curious
Creative
Inclusive
Culturally sensitive
Collaborative
Intersectional
Dynamic

I aim to curate a safe space where you feel seen and empowered to explore your inner and outer worlds free of judgement. Together, we will become curious about your story and work through whatever it is that brings you to the therapy room. I believe you are the expert in your own experiences. We will collaborate on goal-setting and come up with creative pathways forward that feel authentic to your journey. If you feel like something isn’t working, that’s okay. We will talk through the roadblocks and pivot accordingly. The lens I practice from is systemic, meaning we look at the interconnectedness of aspects of your life and the effect they have on one another. We will venture into areas you believe are important to your development and growth and do it at your pace. While our time together will hold collaboration and your autonomy at the forefront, I will be engaged and dynamic throughout the entire process. Our sessions are person-centered, empathetic, and affirming and will always focus on your needs. We are all unique and your time in therapy should honor that.

I am passionate about advocacy, social justice, LGBTQIA+ affirming and culturally sensitive care. To me this means I am committed to continually learning and staying informed about important changes in the world and how they impact my community and clients.

I invite clients of any age, ethnicity, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and religion. I promise to provide my professional services without discrimination and strive to be a lifelong learner and advocate. You are welcome here.

I believe it is a sacred honor to be apart of someone’s healing and growth journey and I thank you for that trust in advance. I look forward to connecting with you!
