Harper Beard
Hi, I’m Harper (she/her) and I’m from South Carolina! As a therapist, my work is rooted in curiosity, connection, and the unconditional belief that you matter. It is my goal that through our time together you feel deeply heard, understood, and respected. Outside of school and the therapy office you can find me reading, connecting with others, and antiquing. I am especially passionate about disability justice, pop culture, and media criticism. My partner and I spend most weekends on walks and hikes with our dog, Fae. I am excited to learn your story and walk alongside you in this journey!
My Therapeutic Approach is:
Compassionate & Present
I strive to create a space where you feel deeply heard, understood, and respected. Our work together moves at your pace, grounded in empathy, curiosity, and care for who you are and what you bring into the room.
Integrative & Creative
I take an integrative and creative approach to therapy, drawing from evidence based practices while leaving room for humor and flexibility. Our work is collaborative and adapts to what best supports you in this season.
Inclusive & Affirming
I am committed to offering a safe, non judgmental, affirming space for all clients. My work is LGBTQIA+ affirming, culturally sensitive, and shaped by an intersectional and disability justice aligned lens.
Grounded in Lived Experience
I bring both professional training and lived experience into the therapy space, including chronic illness, neurodivergence, and religious trauma. This allows me to work with humility, care, and respect for your story.

How I Show Up as a Therapist
I believe that our world moves far too fast, and that this can hinder our ability to connect deeply with ourselves and our community. I’m here to help clients navigate life’s changing speeds with empathy, a touch of humor, and a lot of heart. I work from an intersectional and systemic lens and approach therapy with curiosity, creativity, and deep respect for the interconnectedness of your world. In our sessions, I strive to be engaged, curious, and fully present as we explore the areas of your life that matter most. Our work together will be compassionate, person-centered, and relational.
I love the sense of community and connection that can be found here in the South, while also remaining deeply aware of the challenges many marginalized communities experience here. Because of this, it is of utmost importance to me to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive space for all clients. I believe everyone deserves the right to live their full and meaningful lives and to exist without fear because of an identity they hold. I bring lived experience with chronic illness, neurodivergence, and religious trauma into my work. I am disability justice–aligned and provide LGBTQIA+ affirming, culturally sensitive care. I welcome clients of all ages, races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, socioeconomic backgrounds, and religious identities. I strive to be a lifelong learner, advocate, and provider of care rooted in dignity and respect. You are welcome here.
It would be a privilege to have you as my client. Being part of someone’s healing and growth journey is an intimate and courageous process, and I am honored to even be considered. I look forward to connecting with you.
I love the sense of community and connection that can be found here in the South, but I am simultaneously deeply aware of the difficulties many marginalized populations experience here. Because of this, it is of utmost importance to me that I provide a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive space for all of my clients. I believe everyone deserves the right to live their full and best lives, to simply exist without fear due to an identity they hold. I have lived experience with chronic illnesses, neurodivergence, and religious trauma. I am disability justice-aligned, provide LGBTQIA+ affirming and culturally sensitive care, and I invite clients of any age, ethnicity, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and religion. I promise to provide my professional services without discrimination and strive to be a lifelong learner and advocate. You are welcome here.
It would be a privilege to have you as my client because being a part of someone’s healing and growth journey can be a scary and intimate thing, and I am honored to even be considered. I look forward to connecting with you!
