Harper Beard

ME AS A PERSON

Hi, I’m Harper (she/her) and I’m from South Carolina! As a therapist, my work is rooted in curiosity, connection, and the unconditional belief that you matter. It is my goal that through our time together you feel deeply heard, understood, and respected. Outside of school and the therapy office you can find me reading, connecting with others, and antiquing. I am especially passionate about disability justice, pop culture, and media criticism. My partner and I spend most weekends on walks and hikes with our dog, Fae. I am excited to learn your story and walk alongside you in this journey!

MY THERAPEUTIC APPROACH IS:

Integrative
Systemic
Creative
Curious
Compassionate
Non-Judgmental
Evidence-Based
Affirming
Compassionate
Empathetic
Inclusive
Collaborative

I believe that our world moves way too fast, and that this hinders our ability to connect deeply with ourselves and our community. I’m here to help my clients navigate life’s changing speeds with empathy, a touch of humor, and a lot of heart. I work from an intersectional and systemic lens, and I approach our therapeutic work with empathy, creativity, and deep respect for the interconnectedness of your world. In our sessions, I will be engaged, curious, and fully present as we explore the areas of your life that matter most to you. Our work will be compassionate, person-centered, and relational.

I love the sense of community and connection that can be found here in the South, but I am simultaneously deeply aware of the difficulties many marginalized populations experience here. Because of this, it is of utmost importance to me that I provide a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive space for all of my clients. I believe everyone deserves the right to live their full and best lives, to simply exist without fear due to an identity they hold. I have lived experience with chronic illnesses, neurodivergence, and religious trauma. I am disability justice-aligned, provide LGBTQIA+ affirming and culturally sensitive care, and I invite clients of any age, ethnicity, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and religion. I promise to provide my professional services without discrimination and strive to be a lifelong learner and advocate. You are welcome here.

It would be a privilege to have you as my client because being a part of someone’s healing and growth journey can be a scary and intimate thing, and I am honored to even be considered. I look forward to connecting with you!
